Journal : of a trip to the California mines and back : manuscript, 1849-1850.

Bound journal contains a detailed description of the 206 day voyage to California, especially of passengers, crew, and events on board, with a lengthy description of Talcahuano, Chile. There is another long description of San Francisco, with an account of each day's profit in Nevada City. From 4 July 1850, the journal entries are in another hand, probably a transciption of Levi's notes by his brother Tristam. At back of journal is a transcript in Levi's hand of "Life in California or the Used-Up Miner, A Comic Song Written by Dr. D. G. Robinson, And sung by himself with great applause at the Dramatic Museum, San Francisco."
